eSportzCraazy started in 2022 with one borrowed projector, twelve squads and a spreadsheet bracket. Four years on we have run 412 tournaments across ten titles, paid out ₹3,86,40,000 in Season 9 alone, and never once missed a settlement date.

The first Bharat Battlegrounds qualifier was played in a Greater Kailash office after hours because nobody would rent us a hall for a mobile game. Ninety-one people watched the stream. The final ran forty minutes late because the bracket was a spreadsheet and the spreadsheet was wrong.

Why we started

In 2022 an Indian squad with genuine talent had three realistic options: fly to a foreign qualifier nobody would fund, play in a Discord tournament where the prize money arrived when it arrived, or stop. Aniruddh Sethi and Farheen Qureshi had spent two years watching friends take the third option. So they built the thing that was missing — a bracket that holds, an admin who answers, and a payout date on paper.

The founding rule has not moved since: no player ever pays to enter a qualifier, and no prize pool is ever funded out of entry fees. Everything else — the ladders, the broadcast, the store, the Discord — was built on top of that single promise, in that order, as the money allowed.

By the end of the first season we had run 19 events for 340 squads. By Season 5 we had a full-time integrity team. By Season 9 we were running six ladders concurrently and shipping a daily newsletter to readers in 214 cities. Nothing about that was fast, and nothing about it was accidental.

The promise

Twenty-one days, every single time

Prize money leaves our account within 21 days of a final, after TDS, straight to the registered org or player account. Not escrow, not "after the sponsor clears", not next season. We have settled 412 events on that clock.

Mission

Make competing in India survivable

India has the players and the audience. What it has lacked is the boring infrastructure underneath — schedules that hold, rulings that are written down, and money that arrives. That is the whole job.

A ladder anyone can enter

Every one of the ten titles has a free open ladder. A phone on 4G in Siliguri gets the same seeding maths as a sponsored roster in Mumbai. Season 9 saw 1,904 squads from 214 cities.

Rulings in public

Every penalty, every disqualification and every prize redistribution is posted in the integrity log with the reviewing admin's name on it. Fifty-one rulings published in Season 9; eleven overturned on appeal.

Cheating is the fastest way to kill a scene. We treat it as an operations problem with a budget, not a press release — six people, a demo queue, and rulings published with names on them.

How enforcement actually works

Stage 1 · Registration

Identity before the first map

Every roster member submits a government ID, an in-game ID and a phone number tied to the account. Smurfs, shared accounts and ringers are caught here, not in the semi-final.

Stage 2 · Online matches

Demos on request, within 24 hours

Any admin, or any opponent through the protest form, can demand a demo and a first-person recording. Failure to supply within 24 hours is treated as a forfeit of the map in question.

Stage 3 · LAN stages

Our machines, our image, our peripherals policy

All 240 LAN machines run a signed image with anti-cheat logging. Players may bring a mouse, keyboard, headset and mousepad; firmware is flashed and macro profiles are wiped at the equipment check.

Stage 4 · Ruling

Published, appealable, and paid back down the table

A confirmed violation means a two-season ban for the player, forfeit of the org's placement points, and redistribution of the prize money to the teams below. Appeals are answered within 72 hours by an admin who did not make the original call.

You do not have to be in the match. Send the event, the map, the timestamp and what you saw. Anonymous reports are reviewed; malicious mass-reporting is itself a conduct offence.

A 48-person desk based in Greater Kailash, New Delhi, operating as a product of Catalyst Web Trendz Pvt. Ltd. Twelve of us are full-time competition admins, nine work on broadcast, six on integrity and the rest on product, community and partnerships. Every Season 9 event has a named admin on the rulebook page.

Roughly 62 per cent comes from partner deals with peripheral, connectivity and beverage brands, 24 per cent from LAN ticketing and merchandise, and 14 per cent from broadcast licensing. Entry to open qualifiers is free and always will be — no part of a prize pool is collected from players.
